ORC Groupon

For those of you that have issues getting to the ORC due to family obligations, (Fathers day, significant other's birthday, etc.) Groupon has a deal for the Salish Spa and Resort going on right now.  It's located on the south side of the river, about 5 minutes from Chinook Bend.

They have a Spa, golf course, and heated pool  (some other stuff too)

Anyhow, at $119/night, it's not a bad deal, and comes with a $20 meal voucher.

That's Salishan, and it is a very nice place to stay, good deal.

Chubby former two-time Trailblazer NBA All-Star died there, so you know the food is good. Heard good things about the spa as well. I thought the golf course was fun until I took up kayak fishing.

Thanks for pointing that out, Lee.  That's a pretty nice place.  The wife and I did one of their groupon deals a year or so ago and really liked it.  The rooms are big and many of them have a nice view of the south end of Siletz Bay.  I might think about doing that for the ORC if she considers coming along.

SWMBO and the kids were going to come to the ORC this year until the snow storms from January hit.  All the day of school cancellations caused the district to have to extend the school year through June 15.  Since I want to head down the night of the 14th, so I can pre-fish on the 15th, that means they can't come.

'Course she'd rather pitch the tent and camp than spend the money on Salishan anyway, even at the Groupon prices.  Least she would if there were other women and kids around the campground that she could hang out with.

Salishan put out another groupon today.  It's available for use on ORC weekend.

If you're having trouble making the ORC happen, it could help to pamper the deal with a trip to resort with spa that just happens to be 5 minutes from Depoe Bay.
