My PA took a little beating when i first got it that resulted in some bending of the handle on the bow.  Two and a half years later it has finally pulled free on one side and left me with nothing stable to hang on to during transport. Since I can't use the area that was broken I was thinking about putting some kind of handle on top of the bow.   Any suggestions before I start drilling away?

Jump on the Hobie forum and see if there's anyone else with that issue. If not there's a lot of knowledgable people who can help.

I don't know how those are attached but they are only $14 in the Hobie catalog.  If they are an easy thing to install that's a pretty cheap replacement IMO.
