I did the first drilling on my yak... just four holes in the rod pod lid... but I did it to install a scotty base in the center so I can actually use my rod holders to troll or rest rest my pole.  :)

I also made my own hawg trough... cause i am too cheap all of a sudden... and yes, I am thinking big.  ;D

Well, after a day on the water this is what I learned regarding these two items...

My homemade hawg trough is bomb diggity... it worked great.

My scotty rod base on that rod pod lid is destined for problems.  I only hooked into one fighter... a little 15 inch sea bass... but I thought it might just peel the whole stinking lid right off.  I think it will be great for trolling for trout... but if a big one get my line and takes off, well, I may be in trouble.
