Starting the preliminary planning of a trip to AK and have a few questions for you northern folks.

The plan is to fly into Ketchikan then take a puddle jumper or water taxi to Prince Of Wales for a 7 day hiatus at a FS cabin for silvers and 'bows. I'd love to rent a yak and have some saltwater time too.

Any of you all ever fish Keegan Creek on Prince Of Wales? Been looking at staying at a FS cabin on the creek during silver season. I've also been pondering renting a yak in Ketchikan and maybe taking a water taxi out to the island if we can include yaks.

It'll be my brother's first trip to AK. I'm more of a do-it-yourself kinda guy, so I'm looking for guide-less fishing opportunities.

I'd appreciate any input from you all even if it's a quiet giggle :)

Do you plan on fishing Prince of Wales Island ? Prince William Sound is a huge area in south-central Alaska. There is a Keegan Creek on POW (Prince of Wales)island. Not sure if it runs out to salt directly, but it does go through Keegan Lake and then out to salt water.
Search for kayak rentals in Craig or Ketchican and you should find a few outfits that can help you out..A couple of guys on this forum have made similar trips in that area. You'll have to do some "homework".There is some outstanding fishing in the area.Enjoy the search and make it happen........
And report back on here. 8)
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent
