My first ORC, and hopefully not my last, so pardon all of my questions....

What's the official schedule of events for Fri-Sun?

I have seen the threads for pre-fishing, potluck, Kiddie Pole contest, weigh in time, etc...  I have even read somewhere about an awards ceremony....

Is there a consolidated list anywhere of what is going on at around what times?

Party, party, party!!

Last time most people showed up on Friday. That evening we signed waivers and drank some Ninkasi around the bonfire. Talking into the night untill almost everyone fell asleep.

Saturday before the sun was up people started to get up and head to depoe bay.  Weigh station closes @ 1400. Then we  we cleaned fish and headed back for the fish fry and awards. Drink, share their new fish stories and have a good time!

Sunday people trickle out of the campground and head home

I kinda got the feel from all my reading that things were pretty, um, laid back, but wanted to be sure.  I get all wrapped up in detail sometimes.

Except for when you are on the salt, stay near the kegs and you won't miss anything important.   ;)

Fridays are laid back.  Camp set-up etc.  I'll send around the penguines (Rico, Private and Kowalski) to collect signed waivers from people.  If the weather's nice, we'll congregate around the enormous fire pit for greetings and probably hand out stickers, big hammers and whatever else sponsors give us for freebies.  I expect the keg will be tapped at this point and we'll have a good 'ole get to know you session.

Saturday morning some will be on the water before sun up.  Others will be trickling in from out of town.  I'll be looking to have the Kayak Shed guys manning the Check-In/Weigh-In booth by 6:00AM so people who didn't get their forms in on Friday can get themselves legal to compete.  There are usually casualties from the keg.....  They'll hit the water by 10:00AM or so....

Weigh in is any time before 2:01PM.  All fish will be weighed and recorded.  No peeking allowed!   :P

Around 4:30 or 5:00 (after people have a chance to put away their gear) I'll send the penguines around again to ask competitors to upload their on the water pictures to a PC for the slideshow.  We'll fire up the fryers, set-up the Barn (if it's raining) or the Riverside Deck (If it's clear).  People are free to come an go as they please.  The Barn has several tables, a stage etc.  The riverside deck has the firepit, benches a grill etc.
Somewhere around 7 or 8 PM we'll start the awards ceremony.  Beer will flow till the wee hours and we'll have a good ole bro-down.

Sunday will see most of us packing up and heading out in the morning hours.

Are there any plans for dinner on Friday?  Every man for himself?  I thought I remember folks saying something about pizza being ordered in.  I'm working on my shopping list for the trip and need to get dinner on Friday figured out.

I believe it was you that said something about ordering pizza for the group for Friday, old timers getting you already?

All, as an appreciation for your friendly guidance into the world of kayak fishing, I'd like to supply pizza for Friday nights dinner before the ORC tournament on Saturday.  10 pizzas?  20?  What toppings?

   INSAYN------good catch dude...
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent
