Ok so here is my attempt to fix my Hobie paddle.  If it dosent work ill just turn it into a 1 handed paddle!

First I bought a SCH 80 pipe that just fit inside. 69 cents at home depot. I had PVC glue already.

After cleaning up the edges I screwed the SCH 80 into the blade with some glue on it.

Then I matched up the blade and shaft and marked it to where I wanted it. Then glued it in too.

Now I am letting it bake in the sun to cure. I may go out to Hagg lake with the T13 again tomorrow.

Damn!  Awesome idea Johnny!  I couldnt hear you clearly enough over the phone as to your intended approach. I like it!

Better bust the other side and add some extra weight there too. Hate to see you get your other arm get all bulked up and not be balanced.

lol thanks. Its kinda funny how I stumbled on to it. I had broken the handle off my shrimp gun a while back and made 2 more after a stop at ACE. I decided to see if the handle fit and it did. So I figured I would give it a shot.

Many of my more creative approaches to fixing or building things comes from hours and hours of wandering through ACE, Home Depot, and Pick Apart Junk Yards. Its amazing how many things out there work well together, yet were never intended to be put to use in such a way. I'll have to show you my activated charcoal inline water filter that I made from a popup yard sprinkler.  8)
