As a part of the NW salmon derby series put on by the Northwest Marine Trade Association there will be the Willapa Bay and River Salmon Derby this weekend.Sign-up at the South Bend boat launch the days of the event (Sat and Sun).Or you can launch at Tokeland and sign-up there. If you want to pre-register ,you can do that at any of the Dennis Co. stores in Elma,Montesano,Aberdeen,Raymond,or Long Beach.
I haven't been able to find a link for this years derby, but I have seen posters at some of the local stores down here. This a link that's a couple of years old but it's the best I can do for now...

The tides look favorable, the weather reports are looking good,so now it's time to go get some fish.
I'll probably try out of Tokeland one day and maybe from South Bend the other-depending on how the fishing and crowds are.If anyone would like to come on down I have 3.5 acres if you'd like to camp and make a weekend of it.And my house is 6 miles from the launch in South Bend.
Sorry for the short notice---serious brain farts lately. If I can find more recent info on-line ,I'll edit this post with additional information. :spittake:
Here is a link to the NW Salmon Derby Series Scheduale  ..http://voices.yahoo.com/2011-northwest-salmon-derby-series-schedule-set-starts-7744858.html.....not a lot of info here, but maybe others can expand on this.
   Bring it on..............
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent
