Well, I had one more video from the night before the ORC (ORC Eve??), so the report is a little dated. Nate (Ndogg) and I went to Big Creek Reservoir above Newport to warm up the Barbie poles.  I forgot my net again :P.  We limited out plus threw a few back.  Unfortunately, my AOTY upgrade spit the hook when I got it by the yak. Nate was much more efficient, but was nice enough to wait for me to finish out my limit.  I guess Adora has more mojo than Batman.  Click on the picture to watch the video.

Here is the recipe I used.  http://groundswellkayakfishing.com/recipes/dead-nutz-smoked-salmon.htm   I modified it by only curing trout for about 3-4 hours.  4 hours cure for larger trout (15-20 inches) with a 4 hour smoke- 2 hours alder, 2 hours apple. I cured the smaller trout for 3 hours with a 3 hour smoke- 2 hour alder, 1 hour apple. So far, everyone that has tried it has loved it (thanks Pelagic Paddler).

I am just a crappy fisherman. ;D

What lb braid did you all end up putting on those Barbie polls?  I was thinking about getting one to practice up for next year :P

I used the stock line.  It worked for trout, but was to light for the ocean, next year I am going with 30 lb braid.

+1.   I may get some 10 pound braid for it, though.  That way I can get more line capacity.
