Hello to all,

I normally don't post much but will search many different sites for the knowledge that I am seeking. Anyway I am a native Texan who lived near a small river that we wade fished for bass and panfish. I also started as a recreational kayaker who is converting his SOT Ocean Kayak to a fishing/traveling vessel.

I will most likely post my planned trips and look for others that would like to join me and the like within an hour or two of the Vancouver, WA area.

Thanks for all the great info that I have found so far. I am looking forward to fishing bigger fish up here!

Oh yeah so far I have installed an anchor trolley, setup a collapsible grapple hook anchor with 200ft of line and a break away attached at the top.

I am probably going to work on paddling a few local rivers in the near future and then revisit them to fish.

I think I am going to use Vancouver Lake since it is within 10 min to setup my rod holders and tackle, etc.

I am always open to suggestions and looking to learn new things.

Welcome! Good to see another fellow Couve dweller.
If you want to catch some trout head to Battleground Lake it's about 25 minutes northeast of downtown and was just stocked with 7,500 trout about 3 weeks ago. I went out yesterday and killed em (video coming soon).
I was using a F-2 Frog Flatfish on 6 foot leader connected to a sliding swivel and a 1 oz lead. I tried keeping my flatfish at 17-20 feet a that's where my fishfinder showed them holding and killed em.
Good luck and hit me up sometime I'll show you some spots.
Paul

Awesome I'm about ten minutes from Vancouver lake too, it can be really good bass fishing at times and there are a couple good sturgeon spots on the Columbia right down there

Hello all..I also live in the Lincoln area of Vancouver and am looking for some fishing buddies. New to the Yak scene but have caught steelhead and salmon from it at Frenchmans bar... Went to Rock Creek reservoir near Wamic in Oregon 2 weeks ago.. Caught some very nice 2lb rainbows... I used to have boat yrs ago and thought I would give Yaking a go... Would like to hook up with someone and hit the water...Feel free to email me... Don't have glasses on so pardon my spelling..

RR and Sacdad,

Let me know if you're going on the Big C. for Steelhead Sunday, I may be up for it.

Otherwise I'll probably just hit Round Lake/Lacamas Lake very early (before the wake boarders awaken the laken with their wakening).

Hop the report from Lacamas has not been that good lately. Are you opposed to hit up Battleground lake? Gates open at 6:30 am and I've done pretty well the last 3 times out.
Sacdad you're welcome to join. Where are you planning on tryin for steelhead?
