Been jonesing for some thigh straps and finally got around to getting some.

I used surf to summit thigh straps along with pad eye kits from topkayaker.com

I put the padeyes approx. at hips and ankles and it seems to work just fine. Can't wait to play around in the surf with em!

The straps look horribly misaligned in the bottom pic but thats just the camera angle

It's the difference between sitting on a runaway freight train and having some influence over said train's direction.

They can really change the game on a big day.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

Funny, I bought a new pair yesterday.

More like the difference between sitting on a runaway train and having the train runaway without you!
Last Saturday (same bumpy day) I'd just about made it in when the wave I was on, piled up and broke. I leaned over, planted my paddle in the wave, then it closed out into the boat and off it went without me. I was left standing, then swimming after it. ::)

(and you don't have to wait for a big day)
