Hi,  Just joined the forum, and thought I'd do do an intro since I'll be lurking and learning here.

I'm Matt. I've been fishing and boating most of my life.   We decided to get into Kayaking recently, having rented some and really enjoying the experience.  The prospect of blending kayaking and fishing was really reciting to me.   I'm visualizing a really pure style of fishing.  My wife and I just picked up our new Hobies yesterday from Next Adventure. We do a lot of fishing and camping, everywhere from the high lakes to the ocean, mostly out of Newport.  We camp in a pickup camper, so finding a good solution for transporting these things is first priority.  We also have a fishing boat, so I'm hoping I can get everything together for big trips.

We are from Eugene, so there is a lot of good local water.  We're gonna take em out for the first time tonight.

Thanks in advance for all the wisdom I know I'll find here.

Matt

Thanks!  Yeah, they only had the one outback in stock, we wanted two.  After a bit of agonizing, we decided to get the Revo rather than endure the ungratifying three week wait, coupled with another trip north.  In retrospect, I'm glad we got one of each, because now we can take advantage of the strengths of each.  Also, we got a few perks by doing a twofer!

  Welcome Matt,
I think you'll find Next Adventure extremely pro-active with the kayaking community. They are some awesome guys too.
You did good getting the Revo and the Outback--you get the best of both that way.
Check through some of the threads about some of the trailers members have put together. Some very inventive and practical units have been fabbed up by our members.I'm sure you can find inspiration here from their work.

She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Welcome to the addiction.  I am glad the guys in the shop were able to hook you up.  Having one of each boat will let you use the best boat for the situation.  That is if your wife lets you use "her" boat.

Already love the Outback.  Maybe next time I'll get to try the Revo.  My wife did great in it. The Outback fit me like a glove. I was amazed how much water I covered, and even a stiff headwind was no trouble.  A good maiden voyage.

Matt, I live in Florence, so if you ever plan on getting over my way, give me a holler! Salmon on the Siuslaw and Umpqua will be happening soon. It doesn't get any better than catching one of those in a yak!
