2012 OK trident 13
- lowrance x4dsi
- 2 movable rod holders
- anchor trolley
- detachable anchor system
- safety flag
- fiberglass paddle

basically everything you need to hit the water and fish.
I am thinking about upgrading to a hobie and was wondering what you thought would be fair
price. spent over $1500 putting this all together.

thanks in advance,

I've sold a few yaks in the last couple months and I found most folks don't really start getting interested until you are in the ballpark of  25-30% below retail. Even for almost new year old gear.  I think the logic is they'd rather buy new unless they can really save some coin.

You'd probably be better of parting out the fishfinder and maybe a few of the other parts. It seems that if you are in the 800-950 range you should be able to move it. I think if most people are going to spend 1100-1200 dollars they're going to add a few more bucks and just get a hobie. You never know with craigslist though. Fair and what you can actually get for it can be two very different prices. Good luck either way!

Pelagic paddler is right on how folks will feel between used price and just ponying up for new.

However you can increase your odds of getting more than just the "average" sell price for your slightly used kayak and gear.

Lots of clear pictures and of different angles of all your gear set up in or next to the water will do wonders for getting people motivated to purchase.  It will help sell the kayak at a higher price.

It is a psychological thing.  It's like trying to sell a street bike with a blurry cell phone picture of it in a messy garage with rain visible in the driveway, vs several clear pictures of it with it parked along the coastal highway overlooking the ocean on a really nice clear blue day.

Folks will day dream and imagine themselves in that setting.  This can move them to really want to live that experience thus reducing their grip on really trying to lower the price.  They don't want someone else to jump in and take the opportunity away from them.

So, find a clean lake/river setting for a backdrop, use a good camera and get several shots trying to get the viewer to feel like they are there with the kayak.

Thanks guys.  I am planning to get either a outback or a revo 13 by next year.
Just really love the idea of the mirage drive.

Thanks again
