Anyone have some experience with the general conditions for the strait side conditions for the typical september?

If it is windy there will be chop. If there are big tides there will be a strong current. If it is raining it will be wet.

Well, I thought I posted on this but it doesn't appear to be here.  The strait can be at it's best wind wise this time of year, there are usually more offshore flow days in Sept than any other month, Area 4b will be closed to Salmon but open to Ling till mid oct so you can keep 6 & 2 if you can find them.  Blacks can be found anywhere there Ling too really.  I like to hit area 5 and 4 when I can fish Salmon in the AM and bottom fish later.  Sept 15 area 5 opens to native coho, I think that is 2 weeks earlier in the past few years.

We'll have to hook up soon and fish.

yes - let's do that!  I need a bigger ling... and greenling... and blackie... and cabie... for my aoty... but at least I have them now. :)  I might be able to do a friday/sat thing since that works for your schedule better. :)
