So the wife is asking for me to put a "Christmas List" together for her and my family.  One of the things ive been thinking about lately is a boot/glove dryer.  Does anyone have any recommendations or are they even worth it in your opinion?  Any info would be great.  Thanks

Not to sound like a smart ass but if you are a guy that gets his boots wet they are awesome.  I spend a lot of time in the woods during the "wet" months.  Today for instance  I put a bunch of miles on my boots collecting mushrooms.  Boots were wet on the outside and damp from sweat on the inside.  Stuck them on the boot drier in the shop and they will be bone dry in the AM.  If you can wait for your gear to dry on its own a boot drier isn't critical but if you are like me and will be wearing them deer hunting tomorrow they are a necessity, as wet boots are a recipe for cold uncomfortable feet.  I have found most brands are created equal.  I also cut lengths of plastic pipe to extend the tubes enough to dry my waders when needed.

I agree.

Wetsuit booties, gym shoes, hiking boots, hunting boots - gets them all dry relatively fast, which is great if you need them quickly, and even equally important, cuts down on the stink factor.

A boot dryer is on my Christmas wish list also! Up until now, I have laid my booties on top of the fridge and let the warm air from behind dry them. Still, a dedicated system for drying them would be better!

not sure of other brands, but my PEET shoe drier is still working every day of the week during the wet months, it is now 23 years old!

I second the PEET dryer! I've used mine for everything from tennis shoes to wetsuits.

A word of advice:  If a kid wants to put a seriously stinky pair of shoes on the PEET dryer, make sure to locate it somewhere with adequate ventilation.  DAMHIK....
