While fishing for California Halibut last evening south of Crescent City, I caught a 3' Salmon Shark. About 15 pounds. I caught one last year too. I released both as I've never eaten them before.
Anyone have any good recipes?

Thats not a salmon shark.   Tail doesn't look right.   Perhaps a soupfin.

Yeah, and I didn't think Salmon Sharks got that far south.  They're most common up in AK, and occasionally seen off WA.  I'm not sure they regularly appear off OR even, they might but I haven't heard of it.  Mind you I'm talking near shore distribution, within kayak range.  Off shore is another matter.

Nice I +1 soupfin shark. Salmon sharks look like mini great whites and are found as far south as Baja CA depending on the season.

If that were a salmon shark I would hope it was dead, being that close to my  unprotected foot.

I did some gooogling to educate myself....   you weren't kidding that they look like mini Great Whites

I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't
