I was invited to go fishing tomorrow to catch kings and silvers... I had to decline because I have to take kids to school tomorrow... I thought about just telling them they could stay home... I think this qualifies me as a bad father... the wife would have been, what's a good word... unimpressed - that one will work - had she returned home to find out I did that... oh well...  :-\

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

Hey Spot? Isn't there an old post somewhere around here that teaches guys how to build up the WAF account, and more specifically, what one is?

Take the kids with you.  Conduct experiments to determine what baits work best.  Then it is a science field trip.

I like that one.
I feel your pain.  I was invited to go salmon fishing on my buddy's sled today and I had to decline the offer even though I had today off of work which will probally be the only day off  that coincides with one of my buddy's salmon trips.  I had to work on the vacant rental we have, just my luck right in the middle off salmon season.  I made sure my better half was aware of my missed opportunity so I could build some WAF points up as my accounts a little empty.

Either way, it's always good to have reserves of WAF in case of an emergency.. I stockpile mine next to the dried food and purified water in the pantry.

There is NO amount of WAF that could have gotten me off the hook for letting the kids stay home from school so I could go fishing.  None.

You probably get extra good-karma points for not calling in a bomb threat to the school....
To capture the fish is not all of the fishing. Yet there are circumstances which make this philosophy hard to accept.
