Big Yellow Yak

Hey all!  Going to be moving to Sequim.  Not soon enough... but soon!  I am a yak fanatic and safety is my mantra.  I have been fishing the Long Island Sound, can get rough but I usually only go out when it's calm.  I fished the rivers on the Peninsula many times years ago.  (Amazing)  I would love to start my western education from you all.  How's the fishing?  Are the waters around Sequim dangerous?   And any techniques for the different types of fish.
I really look forward to meeting new fishing Buds.
