At that price, I would think that its either A) hot, B) in bad shape, or C) being sold by a jilted wife.

Yup.  If someone is selling a perfectly good mirage drive and not the boat, you have a very good reason to be suspicious, especially at that price.

Maybe he found it while vacationing in Pacific City.  I understand they're more common than agates anymore.

There was someone selling one cheap in Portland awhile back.  I tried to buy it but, I asked too many questions and he would not respond back after a couple emails between us.  I asked why he was selling just the drive. He told me he already sold the boat, but the person buying it didn't want the drive. ::)

I was going to buy it then contact the Portland Police to see if it was stolen.  If it was, good karma and I make someone happy and some sh@*head very unhappy. >:D  If it was not reported stolen, I got a cheap drive for my wooden sit on top.  Write down all your serial numbers and report it stolen.  If it is stolen and someone tries to pawn it, sell it, or it shows up in a search warrant for stolen property, you may get it back.
