Salmon fishing with artificial lures vs bait

In the rivers I like to target kings with a Little Cleo, and on the ocean an anchovy is the ticket around here - behind a Herring Dodger, and I like the DeepSix.  Last summer most of my fish came at 30 pulls.  A couple days we got bit at 12 to 15 pulls - those days are so fun.
