Looking for a tool reel/retractor trusty enough to use for a lip grip.

I use bungee chord or a coiled paddle leash like the ones Scotty makes(No. 130).  You could also fashion a good leash out of an old car cell phone charger.

I use the old cell phone cords too, cheap and plenty of old ones to find at Goodwill/2nd hand stores.  They make a good rod leash too.

I use the hobby gear retractor for my pliers and lip gripper.  They work great, and they're not outrageous either.

You can also find similar gadgets at scuba diving shops
No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

I think I will get one of the gear retractors.  I don't have one attached to my vest- and I don't want to get too many lanyards going at once.  A guy could end up looking like an octopus if they aren't careful.

I use a retractor for my point and shoot camera. If it can't make it back in the pfd pocket right away, it's nice to let it dangle for a bit without it getting tangled up in other stuff.

I would like to get 2, 1 of the lip grip and 1 for my pfd.  Just trying to find one that has strength and reliability.  I see many brands at the dive shop websites.

I use one for fishing pliers and another for my radio.  Just some I found in the Fly Fishing dept that claimed to be Stainless, though I think that is just the casing.

I am not nearly as confident in my stability as the more experienced so I am hesitant to attached my LipGrips to myself or Kayak.  I am always optimistic that I will be clipping them onto fish large enough to pull me over.
I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

Cetacea is a pretty good brand. They make heavy duty to light duty, with a good variety of attachment types and clips.
