With the weather looking better the next few days, I was thinking of hitting up Chambers Bay for some flounder and whatever else that's legal and tastes good. I was thinking of using those Berkley Power Bait white grub/worms or maybe some herring or some type of jig. Would anyone happen to have any tips for out there? I still need to make sure I can fish there right now...Thanks gang.

You can fish that area for flounder and sole year round, greenling too.  I recommend a 3 to 4 inch grub on a 1 ounce jig head.  For flounder you'll want to find a nice ledge, then fish the ledge until you find them.

Chambers is good and should be open.  Like Lee was saying, atleast a 1oz jig head/weight and the 3 or 4 inch Gulps.  Some people run a single weighted jig others run a drop shot set-up with 2 gulps, all personal preference.  Good luck!

Consider jigging for squid from the yak. Get a squid jig similar to what you see below (Sportco might have them). Drop it all the way to the bottom and jig (as you would for kings) about 3ft from the bottom. They can be up and down the water column, but near the bottom most of the time. Good luck!

I've never tried them, but I don't see why not.  Let me know how they work out

I like the comment on squidding from the yak...One thing though: Isn't sqidding best at night? I am a little wary of going out on Commencement Bay at night with a light...Can you go deep enough in the day and still get em'?

I snagged a squid in the middle of the day in about 80 ft of water.

My suggestion was for day squidding. Day squidding can be just as productive...and they tend to be bigger.

A couple weeks ago I was out by the Chambers Bay Golf Course/dog park taking family photos and as we were leaving, I sen a couple guys suited up with their fly rods. Is there a place around there to launch kayaks? I wouldn't mind joining a someone if they were headed out there this weekend. I came from Louisiana and fished for Flounder out there, so I'd be up for some Flounder fishing.

You can launch from sunnyside beach park, in Stielacoom.  You can also launch from Chambers creek, but don't launch or return at low tide.

I'll join ya out there if you decide to go this weekend.
Heck, I will go anywhere fish-able this weekend that is close by, but really don't want to go out solo.
