I was just at Freddie's today and saw these GoPro knockoff looking cameras on sale. It's a waterproof action camera by Vivitar. It's not full HD but can shoot in 720.
I have no experience with these cameras but the guy behind the counter said they're not too shabby for the price. They have these on sale for $49 (same as on amazon).
If anyone ends up buying one please post a review.

Just thought I'd share.
Thanks!

I got one in my stocking this year but haven't used it yet.  I still have to pick up the 16Gb SD card before I can use it.

I'll keep you updated when I finally get it out.

I did a review search and the reviews on several sites have it at 3/5 or less. I came across this at $33 with 5/5 reviews.

Just bought it with free shipping.  Tackle box camera?

It's not exactly cheap but I've got the "lifeproof" case for my iPhone 5, it takes great pictures and with the case I can even do underwater pics...so if you've already got the phone there's no need for a separate camera just get a case

I've got the same thing, iPhone 5 in a life proof case.  I was thinking of making a lanyard for it out of a few loops of 80lb braid and some of that liquid rubber dip to hold it together. Then just attach it to the ole life vest with something.

Life proof case has a little hole to slip some braid or mono through in the bottom left-hand corner.

This is a pretty cool little camera.  It get good reviews, but I wonder if that is just because people are surprised it actually works.   :)
Funny thing, I found this on ebay; it was selling for $29.99, but they must have been selling a bunch so they've hike the price up by $10.  Looks like you can get them through Sears for $30...think I will pick one up just to see how it works.

I like the idea of a Lifeproof case for my iPhone 5, what I don't like is how bulky it is for day to day use. And I don't really want to dish out $100 bucks for a Lifeproof case that I only use when I fish.
I stumbled across this product by DryCase that I think I'm going to try. It looks like your basic clear plastic dry bag, but it has a one way valve to suck out all of the air in essence vacuum sealing the phone inside the bag.
The phone still has full functionality through the bag as far as the touch screen. For me this is appealing as I plan to use my iPhone to document my AOTY and Kayak Wars submissions.
A perk to this system is that there is a built in headphones jack. And every now and then when I'm lake or still fishing I like to listen to my podcasts. :)

I'm planning on buying one off Amazon to check it out. Reviews seem pretty decent especially since I'm not planning on submerging it often. It's more like a precautionary measure and also so I don't have to worry about handling my phone with wet hands or while in the rain.

I've been thinking about getting something like this also.  For ~$20 it seems like a great idea.

FYI Be careful buying from amazon, I know that alot of people who bought the Lifeproof case from there were very disappointed to find out that what they bought where only the cheap chinese knock off and it did not work well at all. For these types of items i've heard its best to go through a dealer directly then you know your getting what you want.

Since this thread started out with a comment about buying this at Freddie's, It is worth noting that they give a 10% discount on almost everything they sell to buyers over 55 years old on the first Tuesday of each month.  Just ask or the senior discount.
