Dang, that's tempting. Really want the HB 597ci HD DI but that a whole lot less $$. But no conventional display, just DI, right?

The track back feature is tempting.    It lets you scroll back on the sounder output to some structure you liked and mark it well after the fact.  This will put a mark on your GPS so that you can go back and find it.

Anyone know if there is a similar feature with the Humminbirds?

The transducer is also a very odd shape (long and skinny).

Yes, the 386 and I've pretty sure the 597 HBs do that as well.

I think you are correct, downimaging only from the 5DSI.

Lowrance seems to have recently released HDI (hybrid-dual imaging) that get you broadband sonar plus downscan imaging from a single transducer, the Elite7-HDI is top of my wish list right now....

No, it has conventional display too. That's the "455/800kHz DualBeam transducer".

I bought this unit last season.  I love it.
GPS interface is great and the images from. DSI are mind blowing!
The best images come from movement, if you're not moving the DSI is ineffective. Great tool on my yak.
