As I was collecting gear to remodel my Adventure I decided to steal an idea from Rawkfish and add a gear bag to the back of my Hobie seat.  I ordered it and several other items from Hook 1 http://kayakfishinggear.com/ .  When I received my order they bag wasn't there so I called Chad at Hook 1 and he said they were out due to a product flaw but I could wait till they got a new shipment (he didn't know how long it might take) or get a refund.  Since I was chomping at the bit to get working on my yak I took the refund and found the bag elsewhere online.  Low and behold I get back into town from a week of steelhead fishing and there is a box from Hook 1.  After calling and talking to Chad he said he had sent it out anyway to make sure I got what I needed and was happy.  Now thats customer service!

Allen-  I'd be happy to pass it along to you as an AOTY prize (surf to summit seat mounted gear bag)

That's the one I ordered from hook 1. The one I actually ended up getting (another vendor)  is slightly different, same brand just a different model.  So far it works great for what I needed.

How much room is in it for extra gear in case I want to leave the milk crate at home and take the dog?

That's nice to hear Pelagic. I've always had good service from them. I like that Chad always personally signs his name on my order sheet and says "Thank you." If only they would throw in a couple stickers it would be perfect.

It's no ground blind but I'm sure you could figure out a way to make it work.

If you want stickers they sent me a ton. I only roll with Slayride stickers so I can bring them to the next meet up and folks are welcome to them.

I use it for my first aid kit, maybe flares, my bottle of sunscreen and a couple of other random small items like sunglasses.  The tubes are for my lip gripper and wood shampoo.  I wouldn't recommend it for tackle use unless it's a small amount of tackle that is confined in its own bag.  It would be great for holding a small amount of tackle for use on a trip where you could rent a kayak.

+1 on Hook1.  I got a Hi-Vis mesh safety flag and some other gear from them and service was fast/excellent.  The flag attaches with velcro to one of my rods.  I put it up when I'm in power boat/jet ski fast traffic areas especially when my wife or son jump off the Cobra Triple to swim while I'm fishing.   Didn't find that particular product anywhere else.

Last time I gave out my last one, I just e-mailed Hook1 and said I was out.
They promptly sent me a stack to continue handing out.

I might have a few left as well, haven't looked in a while.
