Well after a long time of wanting I finally got myself a yak, found a good deal on a OK prowler trident 13 just picked it up today from a shipping service and took it out on lake meridian shortly after, and let me tell ya after not bein on one for over 10 years Im a little rusty ended up fallin out close to shore after I was seein how stable I was in it luckily I was in stomach high water.  Needless to say I need to practice a bit more so Ill be goin back to the lake till I trust myself enough to go out in the sound for pinks and lingcod  ;D

Congrats on the new boat! The trident series seems quite popular on here so I'm sure you'll find tons of rigging advice.

lol nothin to post yet really just stoked to have it even in its "stock" form still figuring out how I wana load my stuff in it to go fishin and such, which brings me to my next question how difficult is it to paddle/fish in the sound?  Paddling in a lake is cake cause the only thing you have to worry about is the wind...

Lets see some pics. I'm becoming a less is more guy. Easy in salt is more about lots of things. Tide, swell, direction, wind, waves, and a bunch of other stuff. You probably just need to find a safe day and give it a go with some others. I would recommend a guided trip or taking some salt paddling classes.

lol well no never been on lake washington... mostly on lake chelan close to steheiken a long time ago then more recently on lake meridian in kent, wa believe me im no expert on the subject and my saltwater outing would be in summer where getting wet wouldnt be to big of a deal to me (hell i might jump out a time or two knowin me if I get to hot) as seeing in I wouldnt be more than 100yds from shore... also when it starts to get alittle bit warmer was gonna practice diving out of and re-entering the yak to be sure I know how just in case

... I'm not trying to be that guy, but have you been in the ocean here... I don't know if you are from around here.  But the water is cold... all the time... I'm not sure I saw the temp over 54 degrees all summer... I wouldn't go into the salt water without some kind of immersion gear for any reason.  just my opinion... I was told the same thing when I got my trident - I'm glad I listened.
