1. Make sure your relief zip is done up all the way.

2. Langston will be late.

3. Big Hammers rock!  - Thanks for the hookup Lingbanger

4. I suck at finding rockfish

5. I do get seasick.

6. Langston can fly.

7. Help your friends get unstuck immediately or they will break their car.

8. Rawkfish is insufferable when he is the only one who makes it in sans huli.

It was a good day!
It was a great day!

I also learned a few things yesterday

1. Langston needs a wake up call.

2. ALWAYS remove hooks from rods stored on the side of you yak when surf landing/launching. Having them bury into your drysuit makes your suit far less dry.

3. Just because everyone else is parking on the wet sand doesn't mean you should. Also carry a tow strap if you are dumb enough to drive your 2wd hatchback on the sand :)

4.  My fish finder always works perfectly in my garage, not so much on the water.

5.  I LOVE the Ocean. I already knew this but it's always nice to have a reminder after not being out there for 4-5 months.

6. Langston can fly and looks funny when swimming frantically for his kayak.

7. Don't park on wet sand!

Sounds like you guys had a fun day out there.  I really wish I could have seen Lang fly.

Hmmm ... I seem to recall the rawkfish has tasted salt a time or two learning to surf launch ....
Anyone have the video handy?

I learned to get through the surf well before I started shooting videos from the yak, so no, that video isn't available.  However, my number does come up now and again - like when I'm learning how a new boat behaves in the surf on a day that is too big to begin with.   ;)

After seeing posts such as these, I guess I need to add the ocean to my kayak fishing TODO list for this year.    :D

Thanks for sharing!!!

I didn't actually see Langcod flying, but I did see an Outback lying on its back in about 6" of water on a sandbar about 20' from a black helmeted head in the water with a 6' wave crashing down on it. There was a sandbar 100' from the water's edge that I crashed on, and I assume Sinker and Noah caught it too. I would be lying if I said I didn't get just a little smile from seeing the young guys biff behind me ;D

I noticed everybody emerged from the surf with a smile on their face - I sure did. It was a great day all around!
