The go pro app allotted me to stop/start recording and adjust all settings from my phone.

When you mount a GoPro or Playsport, do you just run the video recording constantly and then later sift thru footage to get your hero moments?  Or, are you turning the camera on and off fairly often.  Maybe you have a remote...that would be useful.  Just wondering how it's done in reality.  Thanks. Barb

For me both.  It's a trade off between battery management and getting the shot. I try to run one constantly. The unexpected is often the best footage as is the strike. My head mounted one I usually turn on and off to make sure I get a shot.

I have a couple Drift stealth HD170s with the larger batteries. I also have a first gen HD Gopro with the extra battery pack and I have a Playsport. I like the remote on the Drifts and the ease of replacing the batteries. My Gopro battery life doesn't even come close to the Drifts. The Playsport with removable batteries is great for that reason but again battery life is not even close to the Drift. Regarding video quality, I have found the Drift is saturated, the Gopro color true but a little cold and the Playsport much colder and flatter than either of them. I have a remote mic on my Drift and good sound makes a huge difference.

I just ordered a new GoPro Hero 3 white edition. It will be here next week! Now I just have to decide how to mount it. I just installed some Yak Attack Gear Tracs...that should give me plenty of options.  ;D
I'll have to post a video once I finish all my rigging. I still haven't set up my FF. It will be nice to finally get that thing on the Outback.
