I have looked at the perception Pescador, Cobra Explorer, Ocean Kayak tetra. I will be doing mostly salt water in Lake fishing. I'ma big boy about 230 pounds will the Pescador be enough weight capacity for me?. I want to be out for the ling cod opener. can somebody help me with the best kayak to suit my needs. The pescador r just looks perfect . I am excited to get out on the water an experience kayak fishing and meet new people.

Greetings and welcome!

What sort of fishing are you going to do?  Species?  Techniques?  A trolling boat might be a different choice from a bottom fishing boat.  Range might also be a factor.  How far are you willing to paddle/pedal to get to fishing grounds?

What is "salt water in Lake fishing"?

Sorry I must have posted in wrong area. . Ill will be doing vertical jigging for bottom fish .and trolling for salmon and some anchoring for salmon in the river. . I paddled my old inflatable like 3 miles. Its nota big deal for me to paddle . I'm a very strong paddler. Just need some input from the people who have been in my shoes (green).

Here's a vid of a pescadore 12 in action...though not paddling.  Her second time on a kayak, first time on this pescadore.  Vids a bit long but it shows the yak from a few angles.

That was an awesome video.  Thanks for sharing.  Why do people always call in the middle of battle. Haha. Pescador looks like a great kayak and value.

Lol. Glad ya liked it. It was only comical AFTER the fact. I'd have taken my PFD off and slipped to the bottom of the ocean had I lost that fish.

Girl next door, her second time kayaking, her first ever sport caught king from any platform, first king ever entered in 17 years off a non power boat for the derby.

But I learned you have to net your own Fish and there are easier (not necessarily better) kayaks than a 9ft mini-x for ocean trolling!

When we were paddling the pescadore just blew by my mini-x like I was standing still.

see but that's what I love about kayak fishing. anyone could have landed that from a PB, but on a kayak it gets hairy. It's like fitting a fish sitting on an exercise ball.
