Hey everyone,

Can anyone tell me of any Oregon specific kayak fishing tournaments that do not involve the ocean?  Hopefully for Bass and Trout.

Thanks,

Mitch

Is Next Adventure going to do the Bass tournament again this year?  I'd like to show up and win that one :)

I know it will be a madhouse out there, but I'd like to see a sturgeon derby for kayak anglers on the Willy.
I think the problem is the only weekend it's open  happens to coincide with the ORC.

Yes, Next Adventure will at least be doing the bass tourney this year.  That usually happens in September or October.  Not sure about what else aside from the ORC.

I believe it was in September last year.  I couldn't make it because it was in the middle of Bow hunting season.

October would be better :)  hint hint

Do informal kayak fishing tournaments (i.e. no sponsored prizes) count?

I'd like to include a bit of friendly competition to the monthly Next Adventure meetings.   This month we're covering clamming, but in May we'll discuss kayak bass fishing at the shop (May 21st) followed by an on the water clinic/informal tournament over memorial day weekend.

June will be rockfish and lingcod.

July will be walleye

The rest of the year has yet to be determined, but I'm guessing we'll have a trout seminar and informal competition sometime in the fall.
