Great read!  Sounds like an amazing trip!!

It was an amazing trip even if the bite was a little off.  Still, we got into some decent fish.  We had a freediver with us, that went down on this reef to check it out.  He came up and told us there were dozens of large cubera including some in the 30-40 pound range and one mama at 60+.  But we couldn't buy a bite from them.  We did have one brief flurry near dawn on live bait, but I proceeded to get rocked twice in a row, then the bite shut down.  I tell you, those cubera are strong fish!
