I purchased a downrigger a while back ( i haven't used it yet) and I replaced the steel wire with 65lb braid.

Now I have 100ft of wire.  What can I do with it?  Steel leaders?  Rabbit snares?

Throw it away .....
Or add it to the box in the garage full of stuff you will never use but haven't convinced yourself to throw out yet.

My random thoughts:

dangerous anchor line, dangerous crab pot line, crimp your wallet to your jeans instead of a chain, minefield trip wire, weave something cool with it like Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth etc...

(please do not actually do any of the above - except the Lasso - do that one and send pics ;D)

Seriously though, I'd probably keep a reasonable length of it coiled up neatly somewhere and then trash the rest. It'll come in handy for something... someday. The hard part is not letting it take up more room than it's worth.
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

I plan to use mine as a cable connector between the posts supporting my grape vines in the back yard. The grape vines should have something permanent to grab on to. Saves me a trip to the store to buy coils of cable.

I would save it and anticipate the future will bring some project where it will fit the bill and save a trip to the hardware store.  If you already have 50 rolls of the stuff , but their buried well behind a garage full of other stuff you saved,  Call that TV show Hoarders   ;D
I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

Phone your local school and see if their drama or music teacher wants it for staging. I am a school principal and right now my music teacher loves me cause I gave her a roll of rigger wire to string across her backdrop so she can hang props from it for the spring concert next week.
