Hey all,  I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong place....I'm still a bit green on this forum :'(
I went out with a guide on the Willy last week in his powerboat, but he wasn't too helpful in the "teaching" part of the trip. He did all the work, and whenever I would ask questions, he wouldn't be too helpful ( I don't think he liked the idea of kayak fishing, either)
Are there any kayak fishing guides out there? How about dudes that are willing to have a newbie along?  I've got all of the gear and especially ENTHUSIASM!
Many thanks, Yakky (Béla)

The local kayak fishing guide is a member of this forum.   his handle here is Jammer.

Alternatively, the Portland area members NWKA have monthly meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at Next Adventure.   We discuss a local fishery of the month and follow up that meeting by an on the water gathering to fish that fishery.   This month was about clamming and next month's meeting will be about bass.

Thanks so much for the info bsteves. I'll be visiting with y'all soon.  I'm guessing the meeting is at Next Adventure's boat shop and not main store.

I fish George Roger's Park in Lake O a lot and I am more than willing to teach you everything I know about NOT catching Springers. I am very good at not catching them.  Jammer can probably show you how to catch them, though.  He fishes that area a lot.  He and I were out there last Monday night in the rain and hail and I a met a new special lady friend into kayaking.

It will only end with her running off with some abrasive voiced insurance salesman  >:(

I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

Well, she was there with her boyfriend who also seemed pretty interested in me.  They may have been trying to convince me to do something weird.   :duckie:  :o  :duckie:

Back to the original post.  I may hit it tomorrow evening with the after work supervisor's permission.  I am still not 100% on that since our anniversary is this week on a school night so tomorrow evening may be out.  Today is out for me.  Apparently, I am responsible for taking care of my kids when my wife has plans to do stuff with her friends.  ;D

Hey, awesome, Craig.... I just live up the hill from George Rogers Park. I'm right off South Shore.  Not sure if you're thinking about Sunday (today) which I CAN'T make, but hit me up whenever else you go out and I'll get my shit together!

I also go out in the Portland area and will be glad to show you my non-expertise. GR and Sellwood, among others, are places I like to haunt.
Thursday looks good so far.
