What a hard call.  I sure would like to go halibut fishing, and the weather might just cooperate.  However, it would make for a long day.  I still down.

How about camping near the fishing spot Friday night?  Might give us more fishing time and reduce the number of hours on the road Saturday.

No way I'm going to be able to get up there Friday night.  I'm willing to wake up early and meet you up there if you guys want to camp there.  We can drop a car back off on the way through Seattle and carpool the rest of the way to Drano.

BTW, where is "there"?   :)

Zee mentioned two spots, I'd say we reduce the driving as much as possible and go to the southern one.

Gut check time.  The weather looks good on Saturday.  Do we really want to bust our asses up to Whidbey Saturday morning to catch a limit of huge halibut before having to get back in the car and drive 5.5 hours down to Drano?  I was secretly hoping the wind would be blowing and make the decision for us.   :'(

Well Pole I think you got your wish. I checked around w/ the locals and reports have been less than stellar. With the way Drano is shaping up I say we skip the Hai's until next week. Let's hammer them springers!!!! >:D

Zees right, slow start. I posted early on a new thread in WA forum. Lots of folks, little fish and few. Only 6 caught here today by noon and there are a ton of boats out. That was taken from the fish counter.

There was a minus tide this afternoon, so that probably had an effect. I'd expect next week to be better. The last weekend of the month should be better, too.
