Hi all NWKA members! New to the forum and new to kayaking and I am really excited to dive into the sport. I have been fishing since I was real little and have caught all sorts but for the last 6 years or so Bass fishing has been my addiction (hence the name! ;D). After getting married buying a bass boat wasn't really an option so I started researching kayak fishing and immediately knew that I wanted a kayak. So for 4-5 months all my free time went into researching kayaks, gear, paddles, etc.  I finally decided that I wanted a Jackson kayak and I drove up to Kayak Shed (awesome place), got some help (Luke, John and the rest of the crew are extremely helpful and provided excellent customer service), and demoed the Coosa and Cuda 12. Though I had my heart set on the Cuda 12 for a while before I sat in one it was a tough choice. I finally decided on the Cuda 12 Illuminati (the one that Kayak Shed posted a week ago is my kayak) and I am so glad I did (yeah I know you guys poked fun at it lol). I can't wait to take it on the water and get it's first slime! Paddle comes in tomorrow and the next day off it's going in the water.  I've lurked on the site for a while and know a few people on here (there's prob people in the Portland Area that may know/have seen me before, I used to work at a fishing/hunting store for 7 years in Oregon City) and am looking forward to learning more about the sport and techniques and maybe at some point be able to offer helpful advice from my own experience. Cheers

Thanks kardinal! I hope to get back up to Alaska sometime in the near future (maybe fish from a kayak? That'd be awesome) last time I was up there I was 12 but I caught a 54# chinook off the Kenai. Beautiful place

Thanks Jammer! How'd you do last night on the Willamette?

Welcome sir! You know you gotta post video of your UFO (unidentified floating object)  kayak at night!

Haha I will try my best I came home with it and put it in it's new home, turned out all the lights and that thing just lit up! I tried taking a pic with my phone but it couldn't take a good one with no other light source. I'll have to break out the good camera and take some action shots soon!

I've not done any bass fishing at night, but with my new stay-at-home-dad work schedule, it might be my best option. I also have an Illuminati at my disposal! We should hook up some time.

The Nothing- For sure! I will let you know once I start to get acquainted with this new territory. I moved across town and want to become really familiar with the upper Tualatin and some other little ponds around here. I will prob not have time to start twilight-dark bass fishing til a least next week. So when I get dialed in I'll send you a PM. How do you like your illuminati? Taking mine for it's first voyage tm!
