So in the past two days I have caught / foul hooked 9 smolts, 2 yesterday and 7...7 today. Yesterday I did hook a full size springer but lost it right at the boat. My questions: Am I doing something wrong? Am I doing something right? Or is it just one of those things that happen? Do I need to report the ones that got foul hooked, some really were hooked bad and are probably not going to make it.  Let me know what everybody thinks. Thanks so much for the help!

Cheers, Bernie

I would say if you hooked a Springer this year, you are definitely doing something right.

I have hooked a ton this year too.  I figure if my bait is good enough to get a smolt to attack something nearly its size, it is probably going to work pretty well for an adult salmon.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain
