Hello. Reformed lurker here. I have actually been looking at purchasing a kayak but haven't pulled the trigger yet. This site has been a great way to gain information and see the many ways to setup and use a fishing kayak.

I am a native Oregonian and have fished for a long time. However I would like to learn Kayak fishing, and expand my fishing knowledge (and frequency).

I'm hoping to try out a Hobie in the next week or so to see what all the fuss is about. I was planning on spending a few hours on the Willamette springer fishing. If there is anybody heading out this weekend and wants a tag along let me know. Advice on where to head for a short trip near SE Portland is welcomed as well.

Thanks for all of the info!

Can't tell you how much flexibility a yak adds. So much easier than dealing with powerboats. Welcome!!!
