Hello every one, Just a little about myself, I am going to retire from the navy the end of Aug. But I am currently stationed at Port Heuneme, CA. I spent 9 years in washington, Everett and Oak Harbor and miss fishing for salmon, steelhead, crab. I Bought a big Game prowler this fall on sale and here in S Cal have been out a few time. I hope to catch a few fish this summer before I retire and head back up to the Pacific Northwest. Thanks for this great forum!Dave

Pisco Sicko,

Where and what techniques would you recommend for silvers in september? Any places near Marysville? or should I think of other area's? Any help would be great.
Dave

thanks Pisco sicko,
I now exactly were you are talking about, i think that park opened up last year. Have you ever tryed yaking for kings off the indian reservation? I have gone with a freind or two when I was stationed there, but it cost $10.00 every time you lanched from the Res or you could buy a permit for $85.00 for the year. But you are fishing in five minutes. I wounder what they would charge for a yak?

The Tulalip Bay King fishery- I haven't ever fished it, but have wondered about it, too. I've heard that the power boats spook the fish, at low tide, in the bay. Kayaks don't seem to bother them as much, so have thought that might be an advantage.

Maybe a power boat mothership, stuffed full of kayaks, could ease that fee. ;D

How fitting... I'm another new guy to the sport fresh out of the Navy (MM1/SS).

Anyone have any tips or tricks for a newb?  I will be picking up my OK Prowler 13 Angler on the 24th when it arrives.  I am pretty much a freshwater bass guy looking for more 'intimate' and involved days on the water.  Having spent 99% of my fishing days landlocked in the midwest/south I haven't quite picked up the silver fish and offshore bug yet.  From the looks of this crew I think that'll be changing.   I spend most of my days on the 'Plateau wetting my line at Beaver, Pine and Sammamish.  Hopefully I'll get the chance to meet some of y'all on the water in the coming months.

From one "fish nerd" to a "DoRkFish" welcome to the board.  There's plenty of warm water fishing to be done around here from a kayak, it's just that the weather hasn't exactly cooperated yet.   I'm looking forward to doing some smallmouth fishing soon here in Oregon.

Talk about a small world Jay, I was a nuke (but don't hold that against me) on SSBN/SSGN-727B.  Looks like we share used-ta-fish's.
