As most of you can tell--I'm getting very pumped up about ORC 2013.

I understand that putting an event like this together requires a lot of contacts ,communication, and work so all the pieces fall into place. All these things take time and a tremendous amount of effort to make it happen.

So, I'd like to take a moment to apologize to the organizer's and to those putting this shindig together if I am being pushy or impatient or just too enthusiastic. I have no doubt at all that you are all working hard to make this years ORC the best it can be. And I hope you realize that all of us appreciate your joint and individual efforts. And we are sure this will be another awesome time for all.

So, if I have stepped on anyone's toes or have been a pain in the ass with my anticipation I truly am sorry. That has never been my intention. I am only wanting to offer any assistance that I can provide in my own small way. Hopefully that is the spirit that comes through with my posts asking for updates.

I will chill out for now and wait for the "official announcement" before making a bigger fool of myself.
Again----"sorry guys" . I know this will all come together soon.

                                                                                           Mark :-X :-[
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Mark, there's nothing wrong with stoke.  Run thru the streets, ring the bells and herald the coming of ORC 2013.  It's always great to see that people are excited....especially when they're as generous with their time and artistic talents as you are.

I need to start planning my trip for this.  I'm not sure if it's going to start on the 5th or 6th.  I'll be fishing all the way to Depoe bay and be at Chinook bend for at least 5 days.......

I'm excited!

Same here, at least on the excitment part.  I'm hoping to pre-fish that Thursday and Friday this time (just did that Friday last year).  Might bring some crab pots too if folks know of some good spots they can direct me to for that.  Last year I also hit my parent's place first and did a bunch of chainsaw work for them.  This year looks to be the same in that regard, except I'll probably hit their place on the way home instead.

Speaking of which - Mark - if you need any wood for your projects I will likely have access to a number of potential species.  Certainly alder, maple, birch and hemlock/fir.  Possibly ash, poplar and others.  Let me know what you'd like, if anything, and I'm sure we can come to a deal.  If it's something from my parent's place I can meet you on the drive home.  Otherwise, maybe when my buddy and I do our pre-elk season flyover of the area out by you.

Isn't there supposed to be salmon or steelhead swimming past Chinook bend at this time of year?

I believe there is a small run of spring salmon that peaks in June and a larger run of fall salmon that peaks in September.   Cutthroat trout and summer steelhead are probably better bets in July.  I'm sure a call to Chinook Bend will fill in the details.
