All you hobie guys with twist lock seat peg problems, there is a new solution that Hobie sells but they don't want you to know about, for real. They have a conversion kit to changeover from the old twist and lock to the new threaded seat pegs for 2013's. It's part number 81276203 and the dealers have to special order it. I had to talk to Nora at Hobie Parts in Ca to get anyone to admit there was such a thing. Hobie don't want us converting these things and yet they do package up the fix. To see it being installed go www.vyak.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=aa7t=13400. beats sanding the peg holes every few trips and still have the seat slip when you hook a big fish. Art

I'm still not sure what the problem was to begin with.  I've only taken my seat out twice since I bought it.

Kind of weird that they have a product that people would buy but they don't want anybody to know about it.  wtf Hobie?

Nice! Although I had better luck after sanding,scarring,etc...they will still pop out occasionally. A pain in the butt to reinstall on water in windy, choppy conditions! Threaded sounds much better. Gonna check this out for sure. Thanks Art

I HATE the old Hobie seats. The new outback had the new style.  Will upgrade after I try it.  Great thread even if its an old problem. Thx.

At $10, they might be losing money on those kits. Epoxy + thread tap + parts + COGS could easily surpass Hobie's normal profit margin.
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.
