Also, in past years we were too early for summer steelhead on the Siletz. By mid-July it ought to be about prime time.

Next Adventure will also be including an ORC tournament t-shirt and pint glass in the captains bags. See

Nice, some tape and a sharpie and we can cut our red solo cup use way down.

And perhaps for use to make NAMETAGS so I can put faces to NWKA names!!!

Sounds like some "Hi my name is" stickers would be a good idea.

What kind of signaling device?  Does a whistle suffice?

Especially as the Ninkasi kegs run low.  Don't want you to forget your name.

Hey Rev - You will want an air horn for sure.  It's good to honk a couple times when entering and exiting Depoe Bay.  They also announce it on VHF channel 80.  It's usually not too hard to find someone else to launch/land with if you need to on tourny day.

I think the air horns are pointless. You can't hear them outside the hole.

VHS radio's the trick, but I think they consider an airhorn a "signaling device".  Not sure but I think so.  Helps make the safety inspection guys happy.

Noah, is correct. An air horn makes you compliant, but it is too high pitched, and the sound is absorbed by the rocks.

The bass from a vuvuzela would be ideal, but it's too bulky. Also a big bull sea lion might consider that a mating call and try to have his way with you.

Less fun, but far more effective is one of these little devices. The sound carries way better than air horns and keeps you compliant.
