Rockfishing Clinic

With the official Oregon Rockfish Classic announcement having been recently made, I'm noticing a few requests to learn more about rockfish and lingcod fishing.

Well for those of you in the greater Portland area, next month's "fishery of the month" clinic at Next Adventure is going to be all about bottomfishing. 

June 18th 7pm
Next Adventure Paddle Sports Center
704 SE Washington St, Portland, OR 97202

This will be a 60-90 clinic where we will go over safety, gear, tackle, regulations and tactics.   There will also be plenty of time to ask questions.   Then, if the marine forecast if favorable, we'll have an on the water follow up clinic the following weekend.  Details about this field trip will be discussed at the end of the Tuesday night clinic.

I have plans with Next Adventure to continue this series of monthly clinics every third Tuesday of the month until at least September.   Last month (April) we had a very informative and successful clinic on clamming from your kayak in Netarts Bay.

For those interested, May's clinic will be held tomorrow night (Tuesday May 21st, 7pm) at the Next Adventure Paddle Sports Center and we'll be discussing bass fishing.   We will also follow up this clinic with an on the water bass fishing session the following weekend.

 Strongly urge folks to attend the rockfish clinic before hitting the salt.

These meet ups make me wish I still lived in Portland! Then I remember I'm only ten minutes away from pretty much any type of fishing 
I suppose we could host our own clinics and meet ups.

Any chance of someone taking 2-6 GoPro cameras off of their camera mounts to record the seminar to post online?

Wish I could make it. I went to then one Rawkfish put on a few years ago, and it was very informative. Have fun!

Is someone planning to record this so the clinic is viewable for those that can not attend?  That would be way too cool to have a clinic video repository on this site.
