As it is publicly known at this point, ohbryant died in a car accident this morning.  I don't really know what else to say... he is my friend.  If you pray, pray for his wife and kids...

Crap.  I'd really hoped to meet and fish with him.  I thought he'd planned on making the ORC even, but I can't remember.  He'll be missed.  Prayers to his family.

Oh no....that's devastating news.

Rev, can you let us know if there is something we can do for the family?

Wow ...  I'm in shock.
He was a wonderfully warm soul with a kind heart and of love of fishing. His absence will be missed.
Fishing with him two weeks ago for the halibut opener I could only come away with respect for him.
Even after fishing all day we almost had to fight to help him with his getting his kayak up the beach.
He could believe that people he barely knew wanted to carry his kayak so he could walk back to camp. I simply let him know that we are here to help each other and I personally dread dragging my boat back after a hard day. It was the least I could do.
We are a small group of diverse people with one common love of the ocean.
I am not a religious man but I hope his soul finds that perfect halibut drift in a magical piece of ocean, where the tide carries his boat to one end of the drift, only to shift and carry him right back over.
The never ending drift.... True nirvana.

Rest well my friend. You will be missed.

Saddened by this news. Prayers go out to all who love him, and for the repose of his soul.

I am in shock.  It was just a few days ago we were hanging out at hobuck, exchanging fish stories.  He was such a great guy, with such a great family.  Man this is crazy.  He was always so humble on the site, but that guy had a sense for fish like so very few people do.  He truly was one of the elite anglers on this site, as that pic polepole just posted illustrates.

It was so great to finally meet him last weekend because we'd actually been pm'ing info back and forth for a couple years (him mostly PROVIDING the info).  I can't believe this.  Rev, please let us know what we can do. Perhaps a donation fund to help with funeral expenses.  Crap.  Awful.

That's awful!  While I hand't had the pleasure of meeting him in person yet I had exchanged several PMs with him.  I wish I could have taken him up on his offer of joining him for Halibut fishing this year.

My sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends!
