The problem that I run into is that I won't pay the $50 for the taxi ride. I have some sort of mental block about that. [...]
And I'm sure that the hobies are great for cruising, but half the fun for me is the paddle in my hands. I get to do two things I love at once.

I totally understand a good mental block.  I just go through these mental gymnastics automatically, after 30 years of rationalizing profligate spending for air taxis and water taxis to get me to places I like to fish or float.  Paddle or pedal, the thing is getting out and feeding your spirit with things that bring joy.  Give me a paddle on the rivers, but I do love my Mirage Drive in the marine environment. Might have something to do with advancing age and little upper body strength. Still, I like to look at these sleek boats and imagine what I could have managed with one thirty years ago.

+1 on the stealth pro fisha 575. These look like the closest thing to a touring fishing kayak I have ever seen. I have to think they would expand the options considerably, and make overnighter a much more appealing. That paddle out to Fox Island would be more feasible as a day trip over overnight if you could cruise out there at 4 mph comfortably. And the details seem to have been thought out pretty well, though the fish box looks like it would be better able to handle salmon than a decent sized halibut. The Kaskazi Dorado II was the boat I used to drool over, but then I saw the Pro Fisha. If I ever have $4000 I don't know what to do with, I'll let you give it a test paddle. :)

the stealths are very sleek ..light ..there a different ride from kaskazi ..there a little higher in the seating , great trolling yak/ski s ..but quick ..mabee quicker that the dorado..never had the pleasure of the profisha range but did have the evolution 465 ..these kayak are pure kayak porn ..

think they where roundabout the 24/25 kilo , easy to handle ...the fish hold in these are massive , don't think you
would have any problems with big coho , 30/40 lb hali in these ...but like all kayaks .there is no perfect allrounder ..a kayak that looks good isnt allways the best !!..its what suits your own fishing needs , ;)

if someone in Canada would like to become an agent for stealth /kaskazi ...theres a market for them , some really beautiful bodies of water here ..fish utopia !! :)

FWIW, Stealth is in the process of looking for a distributor here on the West Coast, with the hopes of shipping the first container in late summer.  There is some talk of sending a shipment of 10 earlier if there are customer pre-orders to cover.

The ProFisha's claim to cruise at 10-11 kph.  That 6+ mph.

If you're taller, the legroom is short on most Stealths, although they just released the ProFisha 525, which has longer legroom.

Well, I'm not involved in the details, just peripherally as I helped make some introductions.  If you want to be kept posted on that, let Stealth know, and I'm sure they'll follow up.
