Lingcod

Hey I'm new to this fourm. And woundering if any knew of any good spots for lingcod or rock fish.  While we wait for the salmon runs to pick up.

So, I will offer this with my tongue firmly in my cheek.  The answer to your question is... the salt water.  That being said... chances are very low that anyone will share their favorite ling hole with you on your second post.  Kinda like asking the guy you just met if you can date his sister... ain't gonna happen.  Although, lots of people - smarter then me - may tell you this.  Look over the maps for the area that you are in and look for structure.  Lings love structure... places they can hide and ambush your bait.  I think we have some members up that way - they may even be up for connecting with you.  However, I can speak for them.  I hope that helps, at least a little.  Welcome to the cure!

Like Rev said get a look at some charts for your area and look for areas that say "rky" (for rocky) and as long as the depth is legal (here on the WA side we have that 20 fathom restriction for bottom fishing in the Sound) then go ahead and try it out.  You should have no shortage of spots to try out around Victoria.

Looking for the sweet lingcod hole.  That reminds me of my disappointment that no one asked about openly sharing their secret halibut fishing spot this year.  I about cried last time I read one of those!!! I have missed andyjade's quirky postings as well.

Well, if you are living in Victoria, I would give you few general spot that is rocky and I have tons of success of bottom fish
