  Yes there is ::) ::) ::)

   It's located on the upper right corner of every page of this forum.

Start with the forum titled "Drillin and Cuttin".  You may find good insights that aren't specifically on an outback.  There is a recent one for the Revo.

FWIW - this is my opinion, just run it stock for awhile.  As you fish you will find yourself thinking, "You know, I really need 'xyz'" and that is where you start.  For example - I was thinking I NEEDED a rod holder right out of the gate... so I put one on both my yaks.  Never use them.  bad placement and frustrating to deal with... I am very happy just wedging it under one of my legs.  But I paddle... probably couldn't do that pedaling.  If I had waited I might have figured that out.  So much of how you rig up your yak depends on where you fish, how you fish and what you fish for... at least that is what I seem to have learned up to this point.

Turns out I am pretty happy with my OKT13 stock... with a regular old milkcrate in the back.  Well, my milkcrate is a "double", but that is just case that is what I had at the time.

  Hey Flienlow,

   Take a look at the Hobie  forums. There you'll find your pot of gold.

I agree with Rev. Wait and see. Some of us, namely me, tend to jump in with both feet without considering the consequences. I now have "Franken-back the green". To many holes and plugs for the equipment I have. I could be that I have a piercing problem. I could start making designs.

 Take your time look at other yaks and see what they have done. Then with drill in hand ask yourself this question. " Is this exactly what I want to do?"

I'm also a big fan of getting familiar with your boat before making any real permanent modifications.  I based my first kayak set up on what I saw on forums and how I could best mimic what I thought would work.  It worked OK, but for my new boat I'm still in the very minimalist phase of getting to know her.  I've drilled exactly one hole for a flag mount and have my fishfinder mounted with one of the ram sail tube mounts.  I've even convinced myself to put off the turbo fins for a bit.  I expect to be using this kayak for a good while, and am in no rush to cut her up.

My advice is similar to the others.

Take the new plastic girlfriend fishing and let her tell you where stuff needs to go. If you don't have a good idea after the first 5 trips, I suggest doubling the dosage ;D

My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

Most of the guys I have seen out fishing, don't neccasarily represent a high amount of modifications, other then a fish finder. I agree with wait and fish. Other than a milkcrate and some form of fish hold down device.

The only things that I've actually mounted on my Outback is a couple of scotty mounts an anchor trolley and the mount for the Sidekick AMAs.   Everything else comes off.

 I really need to get me one of them "fish hold down devices".  Does Hook 1 sell them ? Almost lost my game clip at ORC last year (operator error--I left it at the cleaning table at Chinook Bend). Thankfully it got back to me--thanks ravdakot.

 Maybe I should just concentrate on catching fish.

  My apologies for the wandering ``~~~~~~~~~~~ ::)

I've taken my new outback out for at least a half dozen times and have just now figured out where I want to place a rod holder. Look at others' set ups but don't go jumping in with both feet. Take some time to make sure that you are going to like were every thing is.

To be more clear (fish hold down device) I have seen old nets, game clips, freezer bags. Mind you my experience is limited to the salt.
