Hello,

I bought a starter Kayak about 3 years ago to see if I would like it. I mainly floated the Willamette River and a couple small lakes. I decided I really liked Kayaking and my starter kayak was no longer going to cut it.

I just got a Hobie Outback and took it out for the first time on Saturday. My plan is to use it for some trout, Salmon and Sturgeon fishing for a few times until I get used to it. I then plan on taking out in the ocean.

Looking foreward to some fun and hopefully meeting some folks on this website so I won't be fishing solo all the time.

Welcome! If you have the gear or are ready for the ocean the Oregon Rockfish Classic is a great place to meet a bunch of fishermen and women. Even if you don't fish in the tournament, there will be a lot of great people there.
