I haven't caught a Pink Salmon since I was in Alaska back in 08 or 09.  When do these guys show up in Oregon (if they do) and when do you go for them?  I'd like to take a trip over to target them if I can.

I'm not aware of any pinks in OR.

Are there any trips/group outings planned for this yet?  I may need to drive up there if there is.

August 17th is the tentative date for the pinks tournament.

I've never fished pinks before but after talking to a few folks in my area there are some definite hot spots.  I plan on fishin' the hell out of them this year and as I learn where to go I'll post outings in the Washington forum.  I can't wait! :banjo:

I'll have to keep it in mind then.  Archery season won't open until the next weekend so I might be able to make it up there.

Well, at least not in any consistent catchable numbers.

Pinks are known to randomly pop up in various rivers where there isn't a current run established. So they can show up as an anomaly just about any where.
That is why you can find pinks in every tiny little creek and trickle of fresh water in AK. They are the cockroaches of the salmon world.

There used to be even year runs, but overfishing drove the even year pink salmon to extinction.  ;)

They like the odds? ;)

There are small even year runs in canada and even here in WA. I know a few run up the snohomish on even years. They don't care what year it is in alaska.
