I'm just curious. What kind of impact does all this prefishing have in the tourney day?

Those who go early and catch a big fish will have the opportunity to release and hope they stay under the same rock for Saturday :D

Or be bummed when you catch a top 5 fish on friday and get guppies on Saturday... :(
See ya on the water..

I should be there Wednesday evening. I plan to do some fishing prior to the event. I'm unfamiliar with those waters so it would be nice to tag along with some folks.
I know there has been a discussion that includes maps of the boundaries and the no no zones to stay away from but it would be sweet if someone was like "hey chris, don't go over there".
I'm more of a visual person so I need to see this for myself rather than rely on a map.

Anyway, I'm for sure fishing on Thursday.

Here is the link to Bsteve's map from page 6 of the official ORC announcement.

Was it decided which "No fish Zone" was going to be used?

It occurs to me that I have a transportation problem.  In the spirit of solving it the easy way... is there anyone willing to be my ride to and from the water?  I will be using my wife's pilot to pull our popup camper... which I will transport the boat to chinook on.  But the only way for me to use it to transport the boat to and fro would be to break it down.  If I must do that, I will... but I hate to if it can be avoided.

As things stand now, I will be coming down on Thursday and fishing Friday. However, if the weather is awesome, I will come down on Wed. and fish Thurs. too!

Not a problem.  When you get there just decide when you when want to head to the launch the next day and find someone that's planning on a similar schedule.  When you're done there'll probably be enough folks around that you can bum a ride from someone to get back.  Collect a few phone numbers too so you can call for a ride if noone else is around when you get back in.

For me, I'm not intending to hit it too hard Thursday and Friday so that I have enough energy left for Saturday.  Which means probably leaving camp around 8AM and getting back to camp by 2-3PM.  Maybe a bit later if I have crab pots over by Siletz Bay to pull.

I released most of the fish I caught pre-fishing last year. I'd say the impact is very minor, especially considering there are daily charters out of Depoe targeting the same fish.

Rev, I should have a spare trailer spot. Probably I will drive down early Thursday morning and go straight to the ramp. I'll be camping and should be able to give you a ride over there Friday and Saturday. As long as you don't mind a pretty early start on Saturday.

I don't know about that.  My figuring was to collect meat Thursday and Friday so that I don't feel bad about releasing a 9lb fish on Saturday that I'd normally be thrilled to keep in hopes for something bigger.

I bet you a released cabbie goes right back down to the hole it came from ...

My FF took a dump on me on Friday.  If I can't get it replaced before ORC I'm without GPS.  That would make it hard to find that hole again.

So --as of 07/01/2013---only 20 or so folks have admitted they'll be fishing Friday..I'm sure that will change.

I'll be out there for sure.
