Jeff's recent hook storage post reminded me that I'd lost my last pair of emergency bolt cutter's. Then my fishin buddy told me that he'd hooked himself pretty solidly shortly before I'd arrived this morning. Time to get another pair. I got these from Harbor Fright (sic)

I normally shy away from anything that requires any precision from HF, but these seemed to be adequate. They performed MUCH better than linesman's pliers or dykes and cut through all the hooks I threw at them without denting the cutting edge. That big circle hook (13/0) took the most effort and required two hands. All the rest cut fairly easily with one. Add a good length of line, antiseptic and some instructions and it'd officially be a hook removal kit.

For $5, nobody should launch without them. Just don't let them get wet.

I gotta get me a pair of those.

FYI, those tungsten side cutters on many fishing pliers these days do not cut hooks effectively.  I shattered a set trying to do so when Bushy got a hook in his butt down in Panama (http://www.kayakfishingmagazine.net/articles/139-kayak-fishing-how-to-articles/1709-first-aid-kayak-fishing.html).  At least the the cutters were easily replaceable.

I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't
