Has any one had a chance to see this?  http://www.oldtowncanoe.com/kayaks/sit_on_top/

They took a lot of ideas from a bunch of yaks and put them in one boat. Check it out. Tell me wat you think.

There's been a lot of post on the site about this kayak. They had one at the iCast show last week. Old Town is donating one for the AOTY prize this year too. So, I maybe I'll get a real close look at one in 6 months or so  ;D

Looks like a great bass boat or for those fisheries where you don't have to paddle much. At almost 34" wide it would be a great candidate for a trolling motor.

A mini review have more detailed review after furthther testing.

The Predator is a great boat for bass.   Also a fine boat for drifting rivers.  It has the least amount of keel effect of any SOT that I have paddled on rivers.  Looking forward to seeing how well it performs this winter on the smaller coastal streams.  It was much more manageable in wind  than I thought it would be on the John Day River float.  It's strengths are stability, the ability to stand, and a comfortable seat that adjusts.

I will be using it when conditions allow because it is such a comfortable fishing platform. Though it is probably not the best craft for surf launches and open water trips.  It is a great option if you like to fish tidewater for salmon.  It will be fun to stand and toss eggs for fall chinook.  It will also work great for near shore salt water fishing (crabbing, mooching, pinks, bottomfish).

I don't like that you cannot remove the seat easily.  It is bulky so loading a predator can be a pain.

Next Adventure has one for those interested in the Portland area. In the Seattle area Mountain to Sound has one at Seacrest for rent/demo.

There should be a ton of photos and video coming from the John Day trip.  Kykfshr, Spot, Polepole and I have the distinction of having caught the most fish ever from an Old Town Predator.  That record might last a while given they we each caught 500+ fish on that trip.  That probably has more to do with the John Day River then the kayaks themselves.

Pros:
Super stable.. Standing is second nature on the Predator.
Easy rigging.. The removable rigging plates are great.
Rod pod.. Just like the Ocean Kayak Tridents
Comfy seat
Transducer scupper like the OK Ultras will hanldle larger DI and SI transducers

Cons:
A bit heavy 82 lbs
Not as fast as my Ultra
Seat isn't removable.. Would have been nice while camping
